This is the petroff defence
en.lichess.org/YBKFMaOv/black#42
It is a very classic opening
It has nothing special
its a simmetrical opening and I dont even know it
but if u are a beginner ur opponent does not know the theory
either so
Its something to try out once in a while
if u want a normal game
sometimes there is queen exchange in the e file
basically as usual white has the upper hand
and its more likely to direct the opening phase where he likes it
so he can grab the pawn on e5 play knight c3
or even the weak move, slightly passive d3 as We see in the game
So in short its an opening u might want to try just to shake
ur game a little and leave ur main opening, ruy?? whatever it is
for a while
since ur opponent probably wont have a clue anyway
thats the advantage of being a patzer
that u can throw almost any opening to the air
and the game will be decided in the middle game and endgame.
Its the same philosophy of the other day,
en.lichess.org/forum/game-analysis/a-d4-game?page=1
trying to play solid and gain small advantages
instead of going crazy and win a sharp tactic or combination
You can try both styles but a good player ultimately needs to know both
and also u will enjoy more chess if u know how to handle
different situations or ways of playing
So in summary u dont need to go crazy to win a game,
u can play solid moves as well.
