Searching In Lichess Masters Database

Sometimes I'm reading a book and want to find a particular game in the database to then analyse in a study. Currently I have to input enough moves of the game so that it comes up as one of the top games which I can then insert into my study.

Surely it would be better if there were a way to search for games in the masters database which I could then insert into my study without having to enter 10-20 moves a game in order to find?

You can search for games played on Lichess, is there not a way to search for games in the masters database?
How you can be sure the game you read in your book was imported by Lichess? Currently there are "only" 612 421 games.

Isn't it much easier to search the PGN of the game on sites like chessgames.com and then use the importfunction of Lichess for analysing?
@nooboss I couldn't be sure it was in Lichess. I would have liked to be able to search Lichess to find out. As it turned out it was quite a famous game by a former world champion and so it was in Lichess' database. I had to input 15 moves for each side (using an old book with descriptive notation which was quite painful) for it to pop up as a top game at which point I could import the whole game to avoid having to input the rest manually.

Using chessgames.com to find the game to then import into Lichess to then add to a study would maybe save a small amount of time but is clearly less ideal then being able to search for the game in Lichess directly.
From what I've seen, I wouldn't be terribly inclined to trust the games database around here.
