Lichess kills sound on computer

After only a few games, all sounds stop playing. This affects Lichess and all other applications on my PC. The sound is restored by quitting and restarting the browser. I use Firefox 34.0.5 and Windows 7 64 bit OS. Please help!!! I have searched and so far not found any solution. Thanks

Sound disappears after some moves here as well. Not only lichess but whole computer. Have to restart to get sound back.

If your whole computer loses sound, that's nothing to do with lichess. Websites do not have the ability to do this.

Ah, you are right. It is just the browser-sound, but just restarting browser does not bring the sound back, I have to restart the computer.

There is no question that Lichess is killing the sound. Lichess is the only application that kills the sound since this happens only when I play on Lichess. For me, I get the sound back by exiting Lichess, closing the browser and then restarting. I have used Lichess for quite some time now, and this just started happening about a week ago.

I also had the same problem after updating Firefox. I'd post a message which had remained a dead letter. So I went to chromium.

I always use firefox. But what I do with chromium, is to create a lichess shortcuts and chromium is exclusively and solely used for lichess.

It is sad to think that we have to switch browsers because of a bug between Lichess and Firefox. Firefox works fine with all other apps that use sound, so there must be shared blame here? Can anyone from the Lichess software development team make a comment?

If the sound is turning off for the whole browser/computer, it's your browser/computer doing something wrong. The JS on lichess' pages does not have the ability to modify your system's function in that regard.

There must be some kind of bug with Firefox then, because the issue obviously occurs with multiple users.
