Space advantage or Material advantage? Which do you think is better?

Space advantage or Material advantage? Which do you think is better? I am personally better with space advantage in form of diagonals or ranks to the opponent's king(not that strong with files, need to improve!)
I think material advantage is better. If its just 1 or 2 pawns advantage, then I would go for space advantage.
Seeing as a lot of top players still play the benoni and KID, I would go with material advantage
All advantages have same unit at end of day just choose better unit like if specific space advantage goves +4 and material advantage gives +3 then choose space
Hmm, maybe Kasparov and Robert James Fischer in the old days.
Nowadays, probably nakamura.
French defense also has space disadvantage.
Some openings can give to us, material or space advantage. I feel fine having material advantage and space advantage. If being tired of the day, I would prefer to have space advantage. Most of the time, It means, to have control over the only open file or solid pawns which dominate opponents pieces. It is like gaining slowly better and better position with solid play (not necessary very creative way of play). On the other hand, there is material advantage (I mean here, having minor piece up or something better).. Definitely advantage I like, when I am kind of a full of energy to think how to win, how to end the game in ''romatic'' and so on and so on.
Let's go with the normal copout: it depends on the position.
I'd rather have a Pawn than a finger. -- Reuben Fine
