Is Chess a sport?

How heavy are darts?
Or isn't darts a sport?
A sport must be able to reach a determined goal (target), have a time limit (active/physical) and have official rules (limitations/restrictions). It must demand skill and effort to discover (by standings) who becomes the winner or best.
In a way rating distributions show how hard it is to be the best.

Normally someone trains for a sporting event. Chess players do a lot of that before they become elite players.

A sport is not determined by BMI (Body Mass Index).

All active sports have elements that are organised for competitions.

chess usually marks all of those criterion you said. And yes, chess players do train for tournaments.
Yes! You don’t need any authority to tell you chess is a sport to recognize it yourself. there are mind sports that require a big amount of focus
i mean in football basketball soccer ,and baseball you need to predict what they will do just like in chess how you predict the next move

What makes Chess the most accurate, and not Shogi, Go, Mancala [*], Bridge or any other game?

[*] Yeah, I know that's an entire family of games, not just a single game.
Well of course it is!

It is not only a sport, but art, science and everything!!!!!
