Hello. E boards are nice, i have an e-one, i think particularly useful for long sessions in order to avoid too much screen time. Imho, and its actually really crazy, i cant see how the server isnt able to recognize a E-board vs digital screen player (since the E-board player Is connecting through a token).

In these kind of games, the E-board player should be ABSOLUTELY granted an extra increment (bronstein, Just as the move starts) - not having the possibility to premove, having to handle both pieces, and all of these also causes a cognitive distress that (even slightly or nothing for.someone) affect ability to focus negatively.

I played as now also some 15+5 games vs digital screen player and the difference was just enormous, i got like at move 30 - 2 mins vs 10 mins. Things that never happens to me both OTB playing and online playing. Imo Is a significant issue. Id honestly think u need at least classical 60 mins to remove E-board handicap issue.

You are right, there is a handicap in using your time with eboards. It will probably be very difficult to find a fair technical solution for this, especially since you can continue playing on the app's screen.

I think how big the disadvantage is can vary quite a lot from case to case. For example, if you have an opponent at 15+10 who doesn't use his time anyway, then it almost doesn't matter. - If I'm well accustomed to using the board, it costs me up to 5 seconds per move. From 25+10 upwards it is ok for me. But I am also a slow thinker ;) I like to play 30+20 or 45+10 and there we almost are at the 60 minutes you mentioned.

On which platform did you play 15+5 with the board? I couldn't find the game.

If you like to play stress-free against other e-Board players at longer time controls on Lichess, I think you have come to the right place. ;-)
I try to play as many Rapid games with my eBoard as possible but switch over to the tablet running in parallel when I feel that I am creating unhealthy time pressure for myself. If you like to play some relaxed longer time controls on Lichess, just send me a message and propose a few time slots that would fit into calendar and we set something up. I am desperately trying to get rid of my provisional rating for „Classical“ these days, as it should be well below what it currently shows.
