Lag compensation question

Playing bullet with lag in internet cafes is definetly very annoying the way lichess is at the moment. I have mobile internet at home and in some areas where I live and the high ping causes me to lose games where I am clearly winning. I know on FICS and ICC this did not occure, because there is some kind of timestamping in effect, which prevents people with lag to lose time because of lag. Maybe it is not that bad, because people are forced to play bullet only with faster connections, but I would prefer a system like on FICS where you can set ping limits for opponents you play against, so people with bad connections can still play bullet without losing time on every move. I can premove 10 moves and will still lose 3-4 seconds during that moves, sometimes even more, which makes bullet unplayable for me.
I think that when you move, the time remaining does not been calculated in the server, I think it must be calculated in the client side and send it to the server, and in this way there is not time loss, ok the game would be a bit larger for both sides but never in advantage for anyone :)
For example today because of the lag I lost a lot of games for 1 second or 2 remaining and in horde I lost a lot of rating for 1825 to 1760 jaja
I have been having a go at the bullet tourneys and seem to have a real problem with this.

Its true I am not a good player but often I am losing to people with 40 secs left on their clock even though I feel like I moved quickly every move.

The frustrating part is when I make a move and take their piece then it takes the move back and says I am down on time.

I don't really understand it, looking at my ping it says 26-60 ms which doesn't seem huge.

These tourneys are fun but having had my rating thouroughly hammered I realise that my only wins come by means of checkmate, and playing generally better players that is rarely going to happen.
