Design of the new app

Hey everyone,

I'm currently using the lichess beta testing app and so far, everything about playing works well.

What seriously concerns me is the design of the app. In my opinion, it is way too close to chesscom rather than representing the clean and functional design of the browser website of lichess.

I don't know if this was mentioned before, if not, we can discuss it here. In my opinion, the new app should just look like the old app, while having all the features of the website and good functionality in general...

Yes, the new app is clean and functional in general. But a few things are very close to chesscom - for instance a lot of engine features. Engine lines on top of the analysis board, accuracy score behind every game in the list of your recently played games, direct information after the game about blunder, mistakes, inaccuracies.

In general I would prefer the app to look like the website...

Also in homescreen, a lot of information is not there like in the old app. The big "️Hello, Username" takes away unnecessary space for instance. Just open the old app, and then the new one and compare!

I agree that the home screen needs some improvement, but I would not be surprised if it changes multiple times, f.ex. when messaging gets integrated into the new app.

So you prefer clicking 3 buttons like in the old app to see your accuracy? Probably most people want it diffrently.

I love the design of the new app and I hope it will even get better as it develops.

I think it is soo much cleaner than the chess.com and the old app of lichess just looks not modern at all. I just looks like the website. One can just use the pwa if one likes that look in my opinion.
