Lichess kills sound on computer

I have the same problem that the author, a solution was found since please ? Slackness to read 4 pages.

I don't know if anything's been changed in the last few days, but now instead of losing sound altogether I seem to be not hearing sound for some moves, but hearing it for others.

Btw, Thibault... what format are your sound files? From what I could see it looks like Firefox handles a few formats (esp ogg) itself, but hands off most types (incl mp3) to stuff that comes with the OS. So it might be possible to bypass the probs by giving Firefox a different format file.

we tried different sound formats, it's unrelated.

Stranger and stranger. I get no sound at all from lichess in Chrome. Other Chrome tabs play sound ok even while getting none from the lichess tab, and desktop apps like Windows Media Player were working fine too.

Don't need you to look for solutions to this, I'll work around it. Just thought it was worth documenting.

Strike that... there is a mute button, and it was checked! Don't know why, is it the default? Or maybe I accidentally clicked somewhere I shouldn't have.

This should be fixed now. Today we completely changed how sounds are generated.
